Soul of Chogokin GX-43 Daimos by Bandai

Soul of Chogokin GX-43 Daimos by Bandai

Hi there…it’s been some times since my 1st review on SOC Baikanfu. Life now quite busy with office matters and family. Currently I only have few time for my hobby. How I wish I have extra few hours for a day to compliment it with my hobby.
Ok quit bragging and let proceed with my second review. Now it’s time for Soul of Chogokin-43 Daimos (SOC-43) by Bandai. 1st released in 2008

Daimos comes from the Japanese anime series Tosho Daimos (闘将ダイモス) or Brave Leader Daimos. Originally airing in 1978, Daimos is part of the Romantic Trilogy which also features Combattler V and Voltes V.

Brief history about Daimos, Daimos comes from the Japanese anime series Tosho Daimos (闘将ダイモス) or Brave Leader Daimos. Originally airing in 1978, Daimos is part of the Romantic Trilogy which also features Combattler V and Voltes V.
Here below is the short clip of Tosho Daimos Opening theme.

OK, back to review.

Again, it’s Soul of Chogokin GX-43 Daimos. Here is the Box. It’s a standard typical SOC’s style, with actual images of what's lay inside. I bought it for about RM480.00 MISB in 2010.

Inside you will get Daimos, nicely packed in Styrofoam (really old school rite?) and all the accessories/weapons that stay put in clear plastic trays. I like the packaging method. It’s easy for storage since Daimos equipped with lots of accessories.

Daimos with Daimo-Shaft

Daimos is ready in robot mode once you got it out from the box. It has a good amount of die cast mix with PVC and ABS .
Articulations on Daimos are among the best compared to all other Chogokin I’ve handled before. It only lacks of waist articulation which I feel not really a big deal. As for the joints, head is ball jointed, arm is ratchet joints and most of it is a dual joints. That’s why Daimos can achieve wide range of poses.
As usual, Daimos also comes with tons of accessories like …..

Daimo-Shuruken

Five Shooter

Sanryuukon staff

Snake Lock

Bandai even provide us with the storage for all the accessories and it is also serve as a base for Daimos.

The best thing I like is that Bandai tried very hard to give us a cartoon accurate Daimos without sacrificing the capability of the toys.
Ok. Did I mention that Daimos is a transforming robot? Huhu..yes Daimos is a transforming robot, and it transform into a vehicle called Tranzer.

Nothing much to say on this Tranzer accept for that it has a rolling rubber tyres, a few gimmicks on the side missiles and there is a door on the rear side of it which can accommodate Tryper (Daimos’s pilot sports car)

All together u will get 3 trypers. 2 of it really small and its apply on the above pic for rear door latch gimmicks
And the other one is a bigger trypers that is much more details and can also transform from car to flying car. Huhu…sounds awkward.

The base also can serve Daimos in it alternate mode as above pics.

That’s all I guess, hope I cover most of the important parts on this set. For those interested to get this set. I personally recommend it. Its full satisfaction for me and no regret at all.

Thanks to all readers and hope you guys enjoy my simple review. See you all again on the next review.

GX-39 Baikanfu

GX-39 Baikanfu

My 1st simple review is gonna be one of my fav SOC..it is GX-39 Baikanfu by Bandai and it is based from Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos cartoon (1986)...

Here is the Box of the GX-39 Baikanfu..the box art is really nice and you can clearly see what resides in it. I bought it for RM450.00 MISB if im not mistaken from other collector last 2 years. Now the price ranging around RM500-550 for MISB set.

GX-39 Baikanfu is a combiners, and it combines in an odd way unlike other typical combiner like voltron, transformers and etc.. So u guys wondering how all 3 of em combine.? please proceed with the review..huhu...

Baikanfu consist of Rom Stoll, Kenryu and the Baikanfu itself.

Rom Stoll is the smallest among all ..refer above pic to see how they combine... Rom Stoll will reside inside Kenryu. Without Rom Stoll inside, Kenryu itself seems very hollow.

Kenryu...the blue robot (second big)

Articulation on kenryu is okay...not so good just ok...this is the sacrificed Bandai had to do in order to do the combining gimmick.

Diecast content...the whole chest/body area is diecast...the whole feet also diecast. i can say about 40% of kenryu consist of diecast element.

Joints for Kenryu is good. most of it tight in ok manner. not so tight..its just nice for it. but since the articulation is not really good so joints issue not really a big deal here. as long they can pose without dropping i can consider its ok already.

now its time for the biggest bot among all of em..Baikanfu... Combining method is the same .just like Rom Stoll and Kenryu..its more like 3 in 1 bot....Rom Stoll reside in Kenryu..Kenryu reside in Baikanfu....so the weight of this monster is kinda heavy.

Diecast content is much more than Kenryu....joints is also tight ...but the articulation is very minimum..just like i said before with Kenryu its due to the combining gimmick. but Baikanfu articulation is very minimum and nothing much we can do with him.

okay.. good things about this SOC is that... you may pose all 3 of em together...because Bandai also provide 2 extra half body like picture above to replace Kenryu and Stom Roll as the inner robot.

Basically this is what we get from this GX-39...the only thing missing is Stom Roll which is inside Kenryu. but the size is the same like his sister. all of the extra fist can be stored inside the stone replica and there is also 4 swords for each figures. and 1 shield.

Overall i am very happy with this SOC GX-39 Baikanfu. if ot because of the limited articulations..this bots sure is close to perfect. But still its a well recommended to all Gokin collectors out there.

Okay...thanks for reading this very simple review..and I will try to make it better on the next review.
